The Social Value Commission
The Social Value Commission (SVC) is an independent body formed by leading businesses, including Barratt Redrow, E.ON UK, Heathrow, Knight Dragon, Mitie, Pension Insurance Corporation, the Premier League, and VodafoneThree. Together, they will advise national policymakers and work with local government on ways to ensure local residents share the benefits of investment and private sector initiatives in their communities.
The Commissioners continue to progress their own investment in local projects and infrastructure across the UK, including mobile and transport connectivity, skills development, regeneration, housebuilding and low carbon energy projects. They advocate for a faster pace of development to not only boost economic growth but also restore pride in local communities that have long been neglected.
Through in-depth research and collaboration with local and regional leaders, the Commission aims to identify barriers to investment and promote best practices for community-focused development. As part of this effort, it will launch polling research and host regional roadshows to engage local authorities, universities, and civic groups. This will inform a policy paper offering actionable recommendations for government and the private sector.
